For many people the best thing about going outdoors is being able to out in the fresh air and to see some great countryside. For me however the best thing about heading out into the wilderness is that I get a chance to wear my army surplus gear. I am able to wrap up all warmly in my M65 jacket and I can pull my hood up to keep up to one third of my body heat in. I can also pull on my nato army surplus over trousers which provide waterproof protection to my legs but are also insulated to keep the worst of the cold from my legs. In addition I wear german army boots which are well known to be the best military boots that money can buy. These army surplus boots are often sold in military surplus stores with very little wear making them excellent value for money.
